Launch your future with the Stafford Scholarship and Work Study Program at SWOSU

Since 1993, the Stafford Air & Space Museum has proudly offered the Stafford Scholarship, established by General Thomas P. Stafford to support Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) students. This program is designed to help students pay for college while gaining meaningful, real-world experience at one of Oklahoma’s premier museums.

Students selected for the Stafford Scholarship receive annual financial support and a guaranteed part-time position at the museum, where they’ll help preserve history and inspire future generations.

Scholarship Details

  • Open to full-time SWOSU students
  • Selection considers academic achievement, community service, and financial need
  • Work study position at the Stafford Air & Space Museum pays $10.25/hour (year-round employment)

Scholarship amounts:

Year 1: $750/semester + job

Year 2: $900/semester + job

Year 3: $1,050/semester + job

Year 4: $1,200/semester + job
